To make a long story short, my girlfriend recently came out to her mom and told her we are sexually active, because she really wants to be on the pill. Her mom came around after a long discussion, and gave her these Yaz pills left over from when she stopped using them. I almost immediately objected.
First of all, shouldn’t she get a prescription for her own self/body? Not some left over (possibly expired) pills.
Second of all, I’ve heard very bad things about this type of pill. A very common side effect is the drastic lowering of sex drive, and that kind of defeats the purpose of taking the pill at all.
After trying to calmly explain this to my girlfriend, she got pissed off and told me to “Be thankful I’m on birth control now,” and now we aren’t talking for the rest of the night.
So r/sex, am I in the wrong..?
