I think I’ve experienced this with pretty much every SO I’ve had. Break up, hook up a week later and the sex rocks harder than it had in a long time, or ever. Seems like when there’s nothing to lose, no rules, lust thrives, or maybe it’s the drive to compete.

My partner now has said that she would have a threesome if we weren’t in a relationship, but not in it. Her sexual boundaries & interests change when there’s intimacy & commitment. I get it, emotional attachment, but WTF!

Anybody else? Break up, hook up, better than before?

So, I’m a straight 20 something female, who just finished a date with a guy I was really excited about. Key word: was. We hooked up, and while it was fine, it’s not something I want to repeat. I’ve noticed a pattern; within the last year or two, I have gotten pretty bored after hooking up with someone once (one exception, my boyfriend, who I broke up with about 2 months ago after 4 months of dating). I will be REALLY interested in someone, and then we hook up, and I don’t care any more. I usually provide instructions for oral/fingering, and they usually do a servicable job (not to orgasm, but I usually need some time with a partner before I can get there), but something just isn’t clicking. With the exception of my ex-boyfriend, I haven’t had a good hookup in 1-2 years. I spent hours today fantasizing about how great it would be to hook up with this guy, and finally get some after breaking up with my boyfriend. Are my expectations too high? Am I having a run of bad luck, ex excepted? When I was sleeping around in college, I seemed to have better luck in finding partners I clicked with ( and wanted to hook up with again). I was wondering if anyone else has gone through a similar situation, and if/how it improved.
