  • “Despite the fact that she’d only given Facebook information from her vanilla identity, the company had somehow discerned her real-world connection to these people—and, even more horrifyingly, her account was potentially being presented to them as a friend suggestion too, outing her regular identity to them. Because Facebook insists on concealing the methods and data it uses to link one user to another, Leila is not able to find out how the network exposed her or take steps to prevent it from happening again.”

The commission is chaired by Vice President Pence ”

  • “Our definition of “non-consensual nudity” is expanding to more broadly include content like upskirt imagery, “creep shots,” and hidden camera content. Given that people appearing in this content often do not know the material exists, we will not require a report from a target in order to remove it.”

Another unnamed developer said Nintendo’s stance toward more violent and sexual content in games on its console “was passive until now, but that is no longer the right word to describe its stance today.””

  • “If you’ve been on your social medias you will probably have seen a lot of people saying #MeToo lately. They are probably women or another marginalised gender. As you can read here it started over 10 years ago but is now trending because of Harvey Weinstein. You might be wondering what you can do to be useful right now. Here are some ideas.”

The Rick and Morty account, run by the show’s writers and creators, joked: “Not sure if this is canon” … They added: “NSFW/NSFC-137,” – ‘Not Safe For Work’ or ‘Not Safe For C-137’ – referring to the C-137 dimension in which first season of Rick & Morty begins.”

[META] Submission rules discussion

Hello r/sex community.

We've let the tagging experiment run it's course (and then some, sorry for the delay). We didn't expect it to be perfect in one attempt, but really isn't even close to how we had hoped it would turn out. So, lesson learned: tagging needs to be fairly rigid if it going to work.

We had several goals with the tagging change:

  • make the content of a post more clear ([erection issues] I need help is quite a bit more informative than I need help)

  • make it easier to search for topics

  • make OP aware of the FAQ – failing to tag is an indicator that OP perhaps doesn't know the FAQ exists or doesn't care to read it (mobile users can't see the sidebar). As the community has grown, we've had so many more repeat posts about pretty generic topics.

At this point, we feel like the best approach is to specify acceptable tags in the FAQ, and actually to set it up as flairs rather than tags, similar to /r/askscience.

But, we wanted to turn to the community for your input as well, of course. Please share your constructive input here. Should this be an advice community, or strictly discussion of human sexuality in general? What kind of posts would you like to see more of? What kind of posts would you like to see less of? What kind of comments would you like to see more or less of?

Thanks!

Sex

Boyfriends housemates want to set up rules for when we have sex.

Boyfriend told me today that his housemates for this coming year want to set up some kind of ‘guidelines’ for people having sex in the house. Since he’s the only one in a relationship at the moment (and the others aren’t the kind to have casual sex), these ‘rules’ are pretty much aimed at him and me. For example, they want to say that we’re only allowed to have sex between x and y hours (apparently 12am-1am was suggested but bf drew the line at that), and if we break these rules, they’re allowed to complain/bang on the door and tell us to stop.

I think this is absolutely unfair and unrealistic to want to impose your own set of rules on someone else’s personal life like this. Neither of us are the kind of people who would do it loudly in the house at all hours or have loud sex when other people were trying to work. (Or have loud sex anyway, I’d be quite embarrassed if I knew I’d disturbed someone.) Fair enough if they had a noise complaint, but I think that until such a complaint arose, sex is an absolute non-issue (and living in a student house it comes with the territory!). I actually feel quite insulted and intruded upon.

My boyfriend doesn’t seem quite so unhappy with or bothered by all of this as I do. I like to think that I’m a considerate person but there is no way I’m agreeing to regulate my sex life by some arbitrary and offensive set of rules.

Am I justified in feeling this way?

Edit: thanks for all your replies, I respect and understand your opinions even if I don’t agree with them. 🙂
